Solving Crime with Computer Forensics

Computer Forensics is the scientific study of computers or computer related data in relation to an investigation by a law enforcement agency for use in a court of law. While this technology may be as old as computers themselves, the advances in technology are constantly revising the science of computer forensics.
In the technological old days, computer forensics was mostly related to data dumps, printing out every keystroke that had been logged on a computer in a series of eight digits, all of them zeroes and ones. Literally cases of paper would be used for the printing of the materials. Systems analysts would then have to convert all of the data into hex and then translate the value into whatever the actual keystroke was. In this way, it was possible to go over all of the data and figure out at what point the computer and the corresponding program crashed. Like computers and technology, Computer forensics has evolved by leaps and bounds since those days of old.
While all computer language still ultimately boils down to ones and zeroes or binary and then hex, the means by which programs are created, run and utilized has changed drastically. Computer forensics has done well to keep up with the task at hand. Now hard drives can be wiped clean. However, without an unconditional format (and in rare cases, even with the unconditional switch) the data can still be retrieved. It takes an expert in computer forensics however. It takes someone who is familiar with the technology of the computer and the science of computer forensics to reconstruct all of the data that has been wiped off of the hard drive.
Computer forensics can be used to track emails, instant messaging and just about any other form of computer related communications. This can be necessary, especially in the world today. Computer forensics experts have even advanced the technology to the point that they can track data real time, or while it is actually being sent and received. This is a mind-numbing task when you think about the billions of communications going on around the globe at any given time, but the science of computer forensics is constantly advancing every bit as quickly or sometimes even faster than the technology they are responsible for investigating.
Computer forensics is an interesting aspect of technology that is often overlooked. Computer forensics have been used to solve many crimes and should be considered a viable tool in many ways. The study of computer forensics is constantly growing along with technology.

Customer Reviews
Excellent It is a great navigator system, a great value for the money, easy to use and very accurate, I would highly recommend it.
Garmin 680 very impressive so far I am new to GPS, with my only other experience being Onstar that was included with my car. I'm taking a month-long driving trip this summer, and had a 500 mile (one-way) jaunt to warm up. The Garmin handled it expertly. MSN Direct picked up on a freeway closure and guided me around it. The device detected in about a second that I had deviated from the recommended path, and gave me new instructions in a just a couple more seconds. The points of interest were accurate, the few times when we needed a suggestion. The negatives? I need to find how to get it to repeat instructions that I didn't catch. The menu-only system is efficient, but can't be safely navigated when driving. I got tired of cleaning the suction cup and window, and just opted for the Friction Mount Base. It cost me $40 vs. $28 through Amazon, so consider just buying it at the same time. Also, a friend told me that a knowledgeable local would have gone a different way than what the Garmin told me, but it got me there without me having to print maps and try to read and drive at the same time.
Best Nav system you can get check out reviews on Cnet, I did, there is no comparison. I also have 3 friends with the Garmin 680. 700 series is not showing a ton more for the extra dough. works right out of the box, no fuss. I have not looked at the manual once.

Customer Reviews
Great, few cons. Worth your money! I purchased this for about $200 from google shopping, and i love it. the only thing that i dont like is that you can't download voices like the tomtom, but the garmin software and maps are unbeatable. Would buy the 660 since it has an fm transmitter built in which would let you play your mp3s in your car system.
Garmin nuvi 650 4.3 widescreen GPS Excellent product! Really came in handy on recent trip driving to another state. Pricing and quick delivery of the product made it all the better!
Excellent Buy.... I am totally satisfied with the product, I should say. This product is now much enhanced than last year's model and pretty good. I just love the 650, except that it doesn't come with the pouch. I think, manufacturer should add a leather pouch to the product (which costs nothing to them), then surely the product's value would go up. I was initially debating whether to buy a 650 or 660. Because of the price diff (Around $60 difference) I went for 650 and it's a wise decision as there are no major differences between 650 and 660 except that 660 comes with a leather pouch and bluetooth (which I would never use thou)....

DicaPac WP100 Small 145 X 95mm Waterproof Cases

Product Description
DiCAPac waterproof cases are 100% waterproof, snow-proof, dirt-proof and the perfect investment for year-round protection!

Customer Reviews
Good for the Price this case works very well. however, your camera will probably slide around inside of it and, therefore, your pictures/videos might contain the circular outline of the zoom protector. all in all, this is a good product for the money. good investment if you're looking for something simple to protect your camera underwater.
Great, Works but one vacation use only I purchased this more than a year ago for a one week vacation. Tested the unit before leaving and it appeared to work fine. My wife and I where ruthless with the camera and the pack. It was placed in the unit and sealed in the morning, used all day while snorkeling, getting taken out constantly for better land based shots then finally the bag was cleaned and dried over night for the next day. After the first 2 days the seam started to break up at the top where the unit rolls up. I was extra carefull when sealing but continued to use the unit. By the last day of the trip water was slowly getting in a few drops at a time. It still worked but I was constantly checking. On the trip back I checked the unit out completely. The edge seals where comming apart, it would not have survived another day without camera damage. I still loved this product think it worked fantasticly but it only works for 1 vacation then its dumpster material. It did convince me to purchase a $200 canon underwater case for the sd800 for our next vacation. I do not regret buying this. There is no way I would have purchased a more expensive case before using the WP100 for a solid week. Underwater photography is a real blast even if you only snorkel. The only reason not to buy this is if you are ready to get one of the high end hard cases for a couple hundred.
Worked better than I expected! Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RTCCL2A17K72K This is the best $30 I spent for this vacation! What fun to just snorkel with a digital camera. I leave my camera in the case almost all the time now, to protect from rain, sand, etc. while at the beach. This video is in Kauai, Hawaii.

Customer Reviews
Great little camera I recommend the Canon PowerShot SD870IS to any one who is looking for a compact point and shoot camera. The SD870IS has a larger viewing screen that makes shooting quicker and easier. The interface is also very clear and intuitive. The camera does a great job with focusing. The prints always turn out great. The SD870IS has also been very durable. Our camera has been drop a couple of times and hasn't failed yet.
Excellent Camera! This camera is by far the best camera I have used yet! I love all the features it has. It may be a little confusing for some. But not so if you're familiar with digital cameras.
Comparing Canon PowerShot Digital ELPH cameras As a travel writer I spend a lot of time at Walt Disney World, and Canon PowerShot Digital Elphs are the most common cameras I see. Families seem to love them, because they're so easy to carry and operate. About the size of a deck of playing cards, each of these "pocket cameras" really do slip right into a pants pocket, and their rectangular designs make them easy to grip. Best of all, they all take good photos. (How do I know? Because I've actually gotten to use every one of these models. Nearly every day guests ask me to take photos of them with their own cameras, which most often are Canon PowerShot Digital Elphs.) Here's my breakdown of the ten bestselling Digital Elph models. Any of the first six are superb choices: 1ST PLACE: SD1100 IS An update to the SD1000 (see below), this 2008 8MP beauty adds image stabilization, a slightly longer zoom (38-114 mm), another MP of photo size and a small indent on the right side for a better grip. Plus it comes in colors! My daughter has a blue one and uses it every single day. During school days the image stabilization made a real difference in her on-the-bus shots. With that heavy of use hers has gotten scratched up a bit, but the marks are small and hardly noticeable. 2ND PLACE: SD870 IS (The camera on this page) The ELPH to buy if you want a wide-angle lens. Slightly thicker than the SD1100 IS, this 8MP model doesn't have an optical viewfinder which makes it tough to use in bright sunlight, otherwise there's little not to love. My husband uses one as a comp camera, to compose shots for the travel guide "The Complete Guide to Walt Disney World." 3RD PLACE: SD770 IS Just released in May, this 10 MP model is, in a way, an update of the SD1100 IS (see above). I rate it lower because it costs about $50 more and doesn't come in colors. On the other hand, it has a longer battery life than the 1100 and features an improved LCD screen that is very easy to view. As for photo quality, I can't tell the difference. 4TH PLACE: SD950 IS There's a lot to like in this 12.1 MP camera. First off, it's gorgeous. The body, though a little thick, is titanium. An upgrade to the SD850 IS (see below), it has a 3.7x zoom lens and adds manual controls as well as the ability to stitch together panoramic images. The only reason I don't rate it higher is the price. 5TH PLACE: SD890 IS Want a long zoom lens? Here's your baby, a 2008 10 MP model with a 5x zoom. Also has the new bright LCD screen and all the other 2008 Canon goodies. The most expensive Canon PowerShot ELPH. 6TH PLACE: SD790 IS With the same 10 MP image sensor and 3x zoom lens as the SD770 IS, this 2008 model stands out only for its larger 3-inch LCD display and, as a result, lack of optical viewfinder. The rear controls are different, too, with a flatter design that uses fewer buttons. 7TH PLACE: SD1000 In my opinion there's no reason to buy this 7.1 MP model. Released in 2007, it's been replaced by the SD1100 IS (see above). The SD1000 is a fine camera but it doesn't have image stabilization, a key feature of the 2008 lineup. 8TH PLACE: SD850 IS The ancestor to the SD890 IS, this 8 MP Elph combines a 4x zoom and 8 MP photo size with an image stabilizer. Every button, dial and switch has a quality feel. Slighter larger than the other models here, it is a little tougher to pop in and out of your pocket, but if you have larger hands it may be just what you are looking for. 9TH PLACE: SD800 IS This 7.1 MP predecessor to the 870 doesn't focus well at its edges when set at its widest angle. Unless it's priced really cheap, get the 870 instead. 10TH PLACE: SD750 The 2007 PowerShot flagship offers a light meter that adjusts for facial brightness, 17 shooting modes, some first-rate movie features and red-eye correction -- features that were innovative a year ago but are common in Canon's latest models. No image stabilization; no optical viewfinder. Choose a 2008 model instead.

Marketing with the iPod

It's no secret that whenever something new and hip is released, that companies are ready to line up with it. One such item is the iPod Nano. The iPod literally changed the way the world thinks about music. Soon after its release, you could walk around any hip metropolitan street and see those instantly recognizable white ear buds poking through the collars and jackets of many people, young and old, male and female. So, it didn't take a marketing genius to figure out that all those iPod listeners represent a huge target audience. Many marketers soon moved to be seen and heard with the Apple iPod Nano.
Many companies that, at first glance, would have very little to do with the Apple iPod, soon lined up to be associated with the world's most popular portable digital music player. Before you knew it, there were charities working together with Apple to create an iPod Nano with that charity's logo and colors on it. Many charities that associated themselves with the Apple iPod Nano suddenly appeared to be current, hip and worthy of time and attention.
However, even though charities recognized the power of the iPod, it was the music industry itself that has taken the greatest advantage of the reach and visibility of the iPod. Now, the music industry generally frowns upon downloading music from a computer onto an iPod without paying for it. Yet, some music executives realized that the iPod is the music player of choice for many people. The danger was that to go against the iPod Nano was to go against your fanbase.
One of the biggest and most popular bands of all time, U2, decided to work with the iPod Nano, rather than against it. A limited U2 edition of the iPod Nano was released, and songs could only be downloaded via the Apple iPod Nano. Of course, there was the obligatory super-cool ad campaign featuring the band, the songs and the Apple iPod Nano. Because of this foresight, two goals were achieved. One, of course, was to work together with the Apple iPod Nano to get the music and songs released and introduced to the public. The second goal was that U2 did not appear to be anti-download and embraced the iPod and everything it can do.
Before, there were many bands who did not like the idea of downloading. As a result, they appeared to be greedy, out of touch and completely against the wishes of their fans. But, with the advent of the Apple iPod Nano, it is now imperative that if the whole world is going to be listening to this little device, then they might as well be listening to you.

iPod Nano - Shall We Take A Deeper Look?

As always, in the age of "consumer first" economics, Apple leads the way. The iPod nano is following along behind the footsteps of the original iPod, as Apple's fourth digital player. The iPod nano came out the same day the iPod mini was discontinued - September 7, 2005 - but is known for having combined features of the iPod shuffle and the original iPod in its new development. It only took nine months for the design development of the iPod nano to become effective, even though most media were aware it was coming. What they did not know was the iPod mini was being discontinued on that same day.
Where the iPod Photo and Video versions capture the deeper pockets, and iPod Shuffle takes in the shallow pockets, iPod Nano catches those who find themselves in the middle. Although its disk size isn't comparable to that of the iPod Photo or iPod Video, the iPod Nano does bring the tremendous features that makes the Apple iPod the industry leader. Picking up where the iPod Shuffle leaves off, the iPod Nano has a hard drive of 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB flash drives which holds up to 500 to 2,000 songs in a 128-Kbps AAC format, up to 25,000 iPod nano-viewable photographs, and stores data via the USB flash drive.
The iPod shuffle brought a lower price with the ability to listen to favorite music, but was lacking in the user-friendly features. For instance, with the iPod shuffle there was no control over the song that is being played - it was completely random. With the iPod nano, there is all the control needed like the bigger iPod systems, but without the disk space. It is smaller in disk size than the larger versions, but the iPod nano brings a sleek look and fee, roughly as thick as an ink pen or pencil. It is still slim and manageable like the iPod shuffle, so you can take it running or to the gym. The important thing to remember is that a person DOES have control over what they are listening to. The disadvantage of the iPod nano is much the same as that of the larger versions of the iPods - its durability. It can be taken to the gym or to run more than say the iPod Video or Photo, but does seem to fade out a little quicker than the iPod Shuffle. This is a problem that all electronic devices seem to have, but the more expensive the device the less the consumers are willing to put up with faults and glitches.

iPod Nano Product Review; Good Things do Come in Small Packages

The ultra slim iPod Nano is not much bigger than a couple of credit cards set end to end and about as wide as a pencil. When the iPod Nano was first shown in a high tech gadget website, no one even believed it was real, how could it be, where was the battery? How could that little thing hold any songs in it? Most thought it was merely another Apple gimmick, not so, the iPod Nano is really and yes it is really cool. Most personal tech writers are giving it the first prize for the 2005 greatest gadget.
The iPod Nano has two configurations; the two gigabyte version which hold 500 songs and the four gigabyte version which holds 1,000 songs. Of course for this level of performance is such a small device, well lets just say you are going to have to pay the price. The down dirty model is $199.00 and the prices go up from there. The iPod Nano is as thin as a pencil and as powerful as juke box.
How small is it? Very small; only three and a half inches by an inch and a half and the width of a number two pencil. And get this it only weighs 1.5 ounces. But don’t lose it, as anything that small is bound to get lost. The LCD custom screen is also about the coolest thing you ever saw, it is very bright and one and a half inches.
The battery life of this thing is over 12 hours and the new Apple Patented click wheel makes it extremely easy to use. The iPod Nano also has all the ports and docking connectors needed to integrate it just like you would any other iPod. Let’s face it you need this to get through 2006.

Two Useful Tips Regarding Your iPod Nano Battery

When you purchase an ipod nano or any other ipod you want to be listening to it as much as possible. This means you don't want to be recharging your ipod nano battery all the time. In order for this not to happen one must follow some useful tips that will increase playtime.
This means increasing the amount you can use your ipod, and decreasing the number of times you must recharge your ipod nano battery. Two useful tips will be covered, with the purpose of increasing your playtime for your ipod nano.
The first tip that will be covered has to do with the backlight of the ipod. The backlight gives you a great enhancement for your iPod but eats up a lot on your battery charge. Having your backlight of your ipod nano on unnecessarily will cause your battery to loose charge quickly. Thus making you charge your ipod nano battery most of the time and lesser playtime you can get from it. In order to prevent this from happening you can set the backlight to only be on for a couple of seconds. Also you can just completely turn it off when it is not needed, especially in a bright environment or during the daytime. If you are using your ipod nano during the daytime and there is sufficient sunlight that allows you to see the ipod screen, then there is no need to have the backlight on.
How to turn off the backlight option?
Go to your options and turn off the backlight. When it is nighttime or its starting to get dark you can go and switch your backlight to be on. When you do this you can set it so it will only be on a certain amount of time and after that time has past and there is no activity it will shut off. Doing this with your backlight or your ipod nano will help increase the life of your ipod nano battery, and it will increase your playtime. At the same time your need to recharge the battery will be decreased.
Another common thing that causes your battery to loose its charge over time is recharging your battery unnecessarily. Often people will charge their ipod nano battery every night and during the day they barely used their ipod. This is why it is good to charge your battery when it is fully discharged, or as close as possible to being nearly discharged. When you charge your battery all the time with most of its charge left, this will decrease your battery lifetime overtime. This means that you will have to charge it more and more often as time passes. In order to postpone this as much as possible, charge your battery when it is fully discharged.
If you follow the above tips you will increase your playtime and overall battery life. Remember to only have the backlight on when necessary. When charging your ipod nano battery make sure it is fully discharged or really close to being completely discharged. Following these two tips will have you jamming more to your tunes, rather than charging your ipod nano battery often.

Nano iPod is Like a Rock Star

It used to be the case that people thought bigger was better, particularly in America. Not so, now. Everything has to be in miniature. Mobile phones have got smaller with each generation, as have digital cameras. The same thing is happening now with MP3 players and iPods. Just in case you hadn’t heard, the MP3 and the iPod are digital music recorders. You can download music from your computer and straight onto an MP3 or iPod. These small devices are capable of storing hundreds of your favorite tunes. As the MP3 player has got smaller and smaller – currently it is equivalent to the size of a woman’s earring – so the iPod is going the same way, first with the nano iPod and now with the Apple nano iPod.
Miniaturization is the name of the game – anything you can make, I can make smaller is the form that the rivalry between MP3 and iPod is taking. Not only do these miniature marvels store and play music they can also play videos. You can actually wear the current MP3 player as an earring and have music constantly within your hearing, whether you are at home, at work or just out on the town. This much like the iPod shuffle that you could clip onto your clothes because of the added pin on the back and is one cubic inch square and weighs in at one ounce. Forecasters are of the opinion that this time next year, the MP3 will be the size of a quarter – but is it as popular as the nano iPod has become or as the Apple nano iPod is set to be?
The price of flash-based players such as the iPod has dropped considerably since they first came on the market. Apple seized the market when they first introduced the mini iPod. It was wildly successful and enabled Apple to grab forty six percent of the flash music player market since Apple first brought it out. Its drawbacks were the lack of a screen and the sophisticated nature of its controls. Then they introduced the nano iPod, which is a mini version of the mini iPod. The nano iPod and the new Apple nano iPod extend Apple’s reputation for high-end, elegantly packaged electronics.
So much for the popularity of the nano iPod, the Apple nano iPod is the epitome of MP3s and gives added bounce to your image. The Apple nano iPod shows taste in the way you listen to your music and gives you a rock star persona. It has the ability to store over a thousand songs, comes in a number of colors and is made from durable aluminum. The iPod and now the Apple nano iPod are king of the MP3s
Nano iPod is Like a Rock Star
Summary:
Nano iPod and Apple nano iPods are the stars of flash music players. They fulfill the current obsession with miniaturized electronics and can carry more music than you can listen to at any one time. Apple nano iPod is smart, stylish and set to become the future for iPods.

Apple iPod Nano - An Apple a Day Can Make Your Day

Are you getting bored of carrying MP3 players and other similar gadgets? Do you want to have some zing in your grip? Then, Apple iPod Nano is the answer for you. With its anodized aluminum and polished stainless steel body, Nano is more beautiful and intelligent than its predecessors. The iPod is famous worldwide for its novelty with each of its models and iPod Nano has also followed the same brain wave. This time, the Apple iPod comes with an intelligent approach to Video Playback. With a smaller size and bigger brain, the iPod is stunning all around.
The iPod Nano turns up with the features like Cover flow, Music Playback, Video Playback, TV Shows & Podcasting Capability, Game Play, Photo Viewer and many extra punches. The iPod comes in five different color shades- Grey, Blue, Red, Green and Black. It has built-in lithium-ion battery that gives iPod Nano a power backup of up to 25 hours for playing music and up to 5 hours for running videos that means you can easily watch two full-length movies back to back. The Apple iPod Nano has all the goodies under the control of single Click Wheel.
If we look at the technical aspects of Nano, you will find that this Nano-machine is very much smarter than the other MP3 Players that are available in the market. Its dimensions are 69.8 x 52.3 x 6.5 mm and it weighs 49.2 grams approx. It has a 2-inch (diagonal) liquid crystal display with blue-white LED Back light and a resolution of 320x240 pixels at 204 pixels per inch. Its display is 65% brighter than any other Apple. It supports the audio formats like AAC, Protected AAC, MP3, MP3 VBR, Apple Lossless, and WAV etc. This mastermind is packed with the HDD of 4GB or 8GB Flash Drive models. Its 4GB Flash Drive can store up to 1000 songs, or 3500 iPod viewable photos, or up to 4 hours of video. Its 8GB model can hold up to 2000 songs or 7000 iPod Viewable images, or videos of up to 8 hours. You can transfer your data via USB flash drive. The Nano is very powerful device that is just a single spin away from your reach. So, spin the Click Wheel and enter the Nano.

iPod Nano, Good Things Do Come In Small Packages

Have you seen the new ultra slim iPod Nano; this little cool gadget is a must have and it is not much bigger than a couple of business cards set end to end. When we all saw the first ads on the Intenet for the Innovative and High Tech iPod Nano on the various high tech gadget website, it was hard to believe, some thought is was not real at all, how could it be, where was the battery, where was the hard drive; how could this little contraption have that many songs? It seems now that most editors and personal tech writers are giving the iPod Nano the first prize for the 2005 greatest and most innovative gadgets.
The iPod Nano comes with two different options; the 2 GB version which holds about 500 songs and the 4 GB, which can hold about 1,000 songs. Of course it is not cheap, but some say it is less expensive than they thought it would be starting at $199.00 and the prices go up from there. How thin is The iPod Nano? Well it is about a thin as a number 2 pencil and as powerful as floor size juke box and then some.
It is three and a half inches by an inch and a half and weighs less than 2 ounces. The LCD screen is cool too, as it is very bright and about one and a half inches. Twelve solid hours of play for its battery life and it does have the new cool click wheel, which users love too, making it extremely easy to use. The iPod Nano has all the same ports and docking connectors like all the other iPods. And you know what? You need this in 2006.

Abatement Class of Nano Manufacturing Materials

One of the biggest breakthroughs for scientists in nano technology is building super tiny machines, which will replicate and build themselves. These tiny devices can build themselves and help make materials stronger than we had ever dreamed of. But what happens when these little bots keep going and will not stop?
What if a nanotech manufacturing facility allows these super tiny nanotech devices, which are so small they are hard to contain, escape the manufacturing facility and building and begin building themselves? Then what? Well then we have a serious problem and it has already happened too.
When one scientist went out side the building to measure the area and found that the levels of particles were too high? Well it freaked him out and his employer and thus now scientists are considering these issues? Perhaps you recall the book “Prey” which was a Sci Fi Book which somewhat addressed this subject?
What we are going to need is an abatement class of Nano Manufacturing Materials, which will seek and destroy these rogue runaway nano-particles, because once they escape it will be nearly impossible to catch them or stop them, because they are hard to detect and so small they are impossible to see. Consider all this in 2006.

Copper Enclosed Carbon Nano-Tube Construction - Reducing Radiation Risks and Energy Collection

Long-term robotic probe or manned human space flight will require special strategies, to prevent electronic equipment failures or health risks. New materials will be needed to wrap a safety factor around the capsule or probe. New innovative power and propulsion systems will be needed for unlimited durations, something that we still have not completely perfected.
One interesting proposal set forth by the online think tank is to have multiple layers of carbon nano-tube construction with copper atoms that bounce inside the nano-tubes, a few layers back. These bouncing copper atoms will provide electricity to run the systems, as well as become a radiation barrier to prevent the harm to human health or organic sustainable systems. It would also prevent damage to electronic equipment, while providing energy that would normally be wasted and unused.
How close is such technology to becoming a reality? Well, the technology is here, but the cost is very high and therefore it will take a while until mass production can be attained at a cost that is realistic to building large quantities of material needed to see such a concept to fruition. If we are to send humans into space for long-periods of time, perhaps in excess of their lifetimes, then we must consider future technologies which will allow for this.
Experimenting with carbon nano-tube technologies in material sciences makes sense and the potentiality for transfer technologies clearly justifies the cost, even if such strategies are never used in space or leap-frogged by the next newest thing in the future. Think on this.

Prisons of Nano Tube Construction

With our US Prison system’s costs going through the roof and burdening the taxpayer, we know we must cut these huge budgets. One of the biggest problems in the corrections industry is the unbelievable number of illegal aliens in our nations prisons. We need to figure out how to cut the high labor costs. You see it costs up to $60,000 per year to house a dangerous criminal, but you can send 8-10 students to college for a year for that type of money. You see the problem?
If we can make the prisons out of carbon nano tube sheets, we will be able to save labor costs. You have heard of nano technology most likely. There are endless applications for carbon nano tubes due to their strength and abilities to conduct electricity. In fact due to their lightweight, strength, transparency and ability to hold a charge the uses are truly endless indeed.
One excellent use for transparent carbon nano tubes would be to make the prison cells out of this material. You could make the carbon nano tubes opaque unless you put a charge to them, thus turn them transparent. In doing so it would make it really easy to monitor the inmates. Also since the carbon nano tubes would be 50 times stronger than steel and could withstand any earthquake, imagine the benefits in such a change in building materials. Think on this.

NanoTube Cancer Weapons

Nano Technology may in fact hold the keys to fighting many different types of cancer in the human bio-system. The technologies are so promising we may see survival rates skyrocket, thus everyone can live strong in the upcoming decade. Nano Tubes use in fighting cancer is indeed, a unique process; it works by inserting tiny microscopic carbon synthetic rods into the body to deliver the cancer treatment to the exact spot needed. By directly aiming the rods into the cancer cells, the healthy tissue is saved.

This research is quite promising and is being researched by Stanford University. Chemotherapy seems to becoming a thing of the past. That is the theory that nuking the body and seeing which dies first; the cancer or the person. Even when the human survives it is left with huge amounts of destroyed tissue, which was not cancerous. When you see a person who is using chemotherapy to treat the cancer you see their hair fallout, but that is only one of many dire and serious side effects.

These nanotubes are so small they are the width of a DNA strand. The nano tubes will be heated up using near infrared light in a laser beam, which takes about two-minutes. The cancerous cells are quickly destroyed. This research is only in the preliminary stages but should be solved within the coming decade.

The nano tubes will be coated with a vitamin called folate, which is found in cancerous cells, but does not normally bind with healthy cells. Once these tubes touch the cancerous area they quickly bind and then are electrified with near infrared laser light, killing the cells. Nano Tube technologies are quickly coming of age and once they are available this process should be relatively easy to use. One cancer already targeted is Lymphoma and tests of the process are being done on mice with good results. There are other cancers it might work on well to and have been suggested. For instance Ovarian Cancers, Cervical Cancer and others; Nano Technology and biomedical processes are coming of age as we speak.
